Campbellton News

Campbellton Elementary School held a “Shining Moment Lunch,” on Thursday, Jan. 18, where students were nominated by teachers and other staff members for displaying excellent behavior inside and outside of the classroom during school days.

The students may be nominated for having a “shining moment,” such as helping other students, exhibiting positive behavior, or just by displaying their overall actions in a positive manner.

Six students were recognized for the month of January. They received a certificate, a call home to their parents on why they were recognized and a group lunch with the principal and the other recipients.

Campbellton Principal Jennifer Meyer was unable to make the January lunch. Filling in for her was Campbellton second-grade teacher Jennifer Volkerding.

Lion’s Choice restaurant in Washington provided the lunch free of charge, and delivered it to Campbellton Elementary.

Students recognized at the “Shining Moment Lunch” on Thursday, Jan. 18, were Nathan Kuhn, Elaina Kimminau, Chloe Mueller, Toby Brant, Blake Voss and Jordan Bennick.

The schedule for make-up days is as follows:

Make-up days 1-6: May 18, 21-25;

Make-up days 7-8: March 26-27.

February 19 may be used as a make-up day if excessive weather occurs prior to February 9.

Students in Candace Kluba’s third-grade class at Campbellton Elementary put together a Native American Museum to display to fellow students, staff and parents on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

The students put together information and the history of many Native American tribes and displayed them in a number of different exhibits scattered throughout the Campbellton Elementary cafeteria.

The third-grade students showed off their work to Campbellton Elementary staff and fellow students on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 9. Parents then had a chance to walk through the museum on Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, where some of the students were dressed in Native American clothing.

Photos from the Native American Museum displayed by third-grade students at Campbellton Elementary are below.
